Car dash cam

Can you use a car dash cam as a home security camera? Has anyone tried it?

If you can power it by home charger, I believe it should work.

I don't see why not. If you can fit in your car, it should easily fit in your home. The only remaining problem would be powering it. I wouldn't be very attractive buying a 12 volt power supply just to power your dash cam, but it would work if that is what you want.

as chsiao has stated in the above, as long as you can find a way to power it, i don't see it as an issue

it should work better than regular home security camera. Car dash cam normally have at least a 120 degrees range of view, the only thing is you have to use at least a 32G SD card.

Yes but not the ideal solution.

(1) Car cam runs by battery instead of AC power supply; it is a pain in the neck to change battery every now and then

(2) Many dash cameras are not designed for night vision. You may want to consider cameras with decent IR sensors for all-weather surveillance.

you're right about the night vision, but the battery part you can buy an AC adaptor to run at home.

Yes, you are right but just do not forget about the connection from the AC adapter to the DC (or battery) connectors and the current specifications. Unless you are 100% positive, bring your camera and ask for advice/test on the adapter with you in the shop, or risk the trouble of refunding or returning, and another round of trying. ...
瀏覽完整內容,請先 註冊 或 登入會員
